Fact layer: foundations

The basics, agreed and written down

The first level of your fact layer: the core facts about your organisation, agreed by the people who own them and held in one place. From here your website, your sales team and the AI tools that describe you can all start from the same account.

What's in it

  • Who you are and what you do
  • Who you serve
  • What you offer
  • How you describe yourself

Each fact has a source and an owner, as set out in the blueprint.

How it's made

Foundations are the first stage of fact layer population. We gather the basics from your website, decks and documents, and check them against each other and with the people who own them.

The tedious part is the disagreement. Often sales has its own version of the pitch, and it does not match the website. We settle each difference with its owner and write the agreed version down once.

How you use it

Your team has one agreed answer to the basic questions, and can point new starters, partners and suppliers to it. Agents and AI tools can work from it in place of old pages and PDFs.

When the way you describe yourself changes, it changes in one place, and everything that draws on it follows. It is also the base the next level, depth, is built on.
