Fact layer: roadmap

How the fact layer comes together

The plan that puts your fact layer into stages, one per level, each with its own goal. You can see what a stage will make possible before it starts, and decide when to move on to the next.

What's in it

One stage for each level of the fact layer: the foundations first, then depth, then customer knowledge, which is kept current automatically. Each stage has a stated goal, what it covers and what it lets your team and your tools do once it is done.

It also shows where agents can come in, since an agent needs the facts it answers from to be in place first.

How it's made

The roadmap comes out of fact layer design and is written at the same time as the blueprint. We order the stages by what your organisation most needs to get right, and by which owners and sources are ready.

How you use it

Use it to plan fact layer population and to track the value as each stage arrives. Each stage is useful on its own, so you can pause after any of them and still have facts your team can work from.

It is also the document to put in front of your board when the chief executive asks what you are doing about AI. It shows what comes first, what follows and why the facts come before the agents.
