UI design

Making it look and feel right

We design the detail of each screen: type, colour, spacing, imagery and motion, all drawn from your brand. Accessibility and small screens are designed for from the first draft, so nothing has to be retrofitted later.

What it covers

The visual design of your website or product, template by template: type, colour, layout, imagery, icons and motion. It covers each state a screen can be in, such as empty, loading, error and success, on phones and on large screens.

Accessibility is part of the design. We check contrast, type sizes, focus states and touch targets as we go.

How we work

We start from your brand and from the tested structure that comes out of UX design. We set the visual direction on a few key screens, agree it with you, then carry it across every template.

Elements that repeat become components as we go. That is where UI design leads into design system development, and why the two are often run together.

What we need from you

  • Your brand guidelines and assets: logos, colours, photography and fonts, with web licences for the fonts
  • A decision on how far the interface can stretch the brand, if your guidelines were written mainly for print
  • A sponsor who can make decisions between meetings, so feedback on each round arrives as one agreed view
